Matches
At Bash at the Beach 1996, Randy Savage, Sting, and Lex Luger represented WCW against The Outsiders, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, and their still-unrevealed third partner.
Luger opened the match against Hall and used his strength to take control. When Nash became involved from the apron, Sting tried to catch him with a Stinger Splash.
During the exchange, Luger was caught in the collision near the turnbuckle and went down at ringside. After officials checked on him, Luger was removed on a stretcher, leaving Sting and Savage to continue against The Outsiders.
With WCW down one man, Hall and Nash were able to isolate Sting and control much of the middle portion of the match. After Sting finally created an opening, he reached Savage for the tag.
Savage entered quickly and attacked both Hall and Nash. After knocking Hall outside, Savage followed him to the floor with a double axe handle. Before Savage could maintain control, Nash stopped him with a low blow.
As Hall and Nash regained control, Hulk Hogan walked toward the ring. Hall and Nash left the ring as Hogan entered, making it appear that Hogan had come to help Savage and Sting.
Instead of attacking The Outsiders, Hogan turned toward Savage and hit him with the leg drop. Hogan followed with two more leg drops while Hall and Nash returned to the ring and celebrated with him.
Hogan’s attack caused the match to end without an official winner and revealed him as Hall and Nash’s third man. Afterward, Hogan joined Hall and Nash for an interview with Gene Okerlund and referred to their new alliance as the New World Order (nWo).
For Hogan and Savage, the match ended their alliance in WCW and renewed the rivalry between them.
